MN Waiver Information

In 2012 Minnesota was granted a waiver from the federal government’s No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and in May, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) implemented a new school performance rating and designation system for 2012-14 with the goal of reducing the achievement gap by 50 percent in six years. Under the new system, all schools in the state will receive a Multiple Measure Rating (MMR). In addition to this rating, schools that receive Title 1 funds may receive a new school designation. All but nine MPS schools received Title I funds in 2011-12.
